Did you know that NUS Services has renegotiated a further extension to the PPL Opt-In Scheme?

The 10% discount applies to all licensable use.
What are the benefits?
- This is a bespoke NUSSL group membership which doesn't exist if you went on to the PPL PRS website directly.
- David Newham will support you when selecting the right license as there are several different areas. He will then submit the application on your behalf after working out the best option for your students' union.
- All scheme members receive a 10% discount.
- The member pays one fee to be in the scheme regardless of how many venues. If you apply for your license through PPL PRS, you would need to have a license per venue.
To find out more, and to apply, visit the PPL Opt-In page where you'll also find guidance on the best approach to ensure you're operating a venue that is fully compliant with the law, the application form and contact details for David Newham.
Please note that this discount only applies to the PPL license. You will need to arrange your PRS license (if you require one) direct with PPL PRS. If you're unsure, David Newham will be able to advise.
- Performing Right Society (PRS) - The licence relates to the copyright which subsists in musical works and their licence is granted on behalf of the composers of the original music and the music publishers.
- Phonographic Performance Ltd (PPL) - The licence relates to the entirely separate copyright in the sound recording (CD’s & tapes etc) and is granted on behalf of the record producers and the artists who perform on the recordings.
