As part of our effort to make our work accessible to the entire range of our diverse membership, NUS has been training staff in Makaton, a language programme using signs and symbols to help people to communicate.

Makaton is designed to support spoken language and the signs and symbols are used with speech, in spoken word order. NUS100, the strategy taking us up to our hundredth birthday in 2022, lays out the principles that will underpin our work over the next few years.

Therefore we have had an introduction to NUS100 translated into Makaton, which you can watch being delivered by our CEO Simon Blake or downloaded as a PDF below.
