Students have a right to feel safe on their campus and should be free from any form of discrimination or hate crime. NUS plays a role in gathering relevant knowledge, awareness of current initiatives on campus, and experiences of a variety of anti-social behavior and crime. Alongside this are details of how students’ unions can be utilised as hate crime reporting centres and their obligations if they do so.
In 2011 and 2012 NUS completed a major project regarding hate crime in further and higher education. The findings related to faith and belief are below.
