Further Education

FE institutions can be sites of significant diversity in terms of faith, belief, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds of students.

NUS recognises that this gives student officers and students’ union a number of challenges and opportunities and that FE has unique and distinct features compared to HE.

When colleges are not well equipped to handle issues related to faith, belief and the overlaps with cultural practise, conflict can become an issue on campus harming students’ welfare and in turn disrupting students’ educational attainment.

It’s important to take a proactive approach to faith and belief in the student body to be able to handle conflict effectively and also equip students to successfully navigate the multi-faith and multi-cultural society they will operate in on leaving the college environment.

On these pages you will find lots of useful information, inspiring ideas and exciting activities related specifically to faith and belief in FE.
