NUS Convention invites CEOs, Presidents, Commercial Managers and those working in Membership and Union Development to come together and explore how students’ unions can respond to the challenges facing the student movement and to collectively discuss how we deliver NUS100. It is an opportunity to learn more about NUS Services and the NUS Charity (who are linked both by their role in capacity building and the inter-reliance they have) and gain a deeper understanding of how the money co-created through NUS Services funds the Charity.
A range of workshops on day 1 will discuss how our commercial operations can drive our strategy to become an outstanding student-led campaigning and membership organisation. We will focus on how we can develop ethical commercial enterprises, how we grow and develop our products and services to ensure we generate the income we need to be self-sufficient and how we fundraise collaboratively to support our big ideas and the wider student movement.
Day 2 of the event encompasses the Cooperative Enterprise Unit meetings and elections to the NUS Direction and Oversight Boards and Advisory Groups. The members meeting will report on annual performance of the Charity and NUS Services, present plans for the year ahead and get a preview of the NUS Group Budget for the next year.
