Thanks to you #GenerationVote is going strong – after National Voter Registration Day loads of students are signed up and ready to have their say in May.
But with the registration deadline just around the corner, there’s still some work to be done. We’re working with the Electoral Commission to give #GenerationVote one final push and round up all the registration stragglers with #RegAFriend.
Basically, if less than half of the young people that are already registered get just one of their mates to register, we can make a difference. And young people will have a say in the General Election on Thursday 7 May. So we’re asking all students to encourage their mates to register with #RegAFriend.
We’re asking all students to encourage their mates to register with #RegAFriend. All they need to do is find a friend who isn’t registered to vote and get them to do so. Then, share a picture of themselves and their newly registered friend making the voter cross mark on social media. And to help spread the word, simply tag their friend, use the hashtag #RegAFriend, and include a link to the registration page.
We’ve created a toolkit for students’ unions with all the copy, assets and information needed to support the campaign. It’s super easy. But to get this going, we need you! We’re asking all students’ unions to promote and support the #RegAFriend campaign for five weeks through students’ union websites, newsletters, and social media channels.
So download the #RegAFriend toolkit and assets using the links below and help us to make young people’s voices heard in May.
