The impact of students’ union trustee boards
For the first time, NUS Trustee Conference will be open to all students’ union trustees – lay, officer or student. There will be a panel led debate on the difference that SU boards can make to society as a whole, leading into expert-led workshops on topics relevant to both the theme and the regular requests for support NUS get from our members. There will be time to learn from each other in both trustee-type specific and general groupings and we are inviting the Charity Commission to the England events and OSCR to the Scotland one. The objectives for the day are:
- Develop trustees’ thinking around relevant and appropriate topics pertaining to students’ union governance
- Provide networking opportunities amongst peers to share experiences and learning
- Receive information from oversight bodies such as the Charity Commission and OSCR
