Hey, I'm Shuwanna and I’m re-running to be your NUS Scotland Women’s Officer! Last year, I ran on a platform of building a radical and intersectional Women’s Campaign - one that elevates the voices of the most marginalised women and non-binary students. Over the last year, my committee and I have worked tirelessly to deliver on these promises - from engaging more than 100 students in our Feminism 101 and Leadership workshops, to facilitating a Consent Train the Trainer Course, Organising ‘Fight for the Night’ demonstrations and lobbying Universities, Colleges and the Government to take action against Gender Based Violence on campus. Re-elect me, and I will ensure that the Women’s Campaign maintains its commitment to fighting for true liberation and building an unapologetic campaign that wins for women and non-binary students.   Experience: NUS Scotland Women's Office 17/18 NUS Scotland Black Student's Officer 16/17 Edinburgh University BME Convener 15/16 NUS Scotland Black Women's Sub Committee, 15/6 African Caribbean Society President 13/14 and 14/15 Over the Last Year: Hosted Feminism 101 workshops across Scotland Organised a 16 Days of Action Campaign including: - A Toolkit and campaigning resources - Support for the #Emilytest petition, collecting over 12,000 signatures - Lobbying for ring-fenced funding to tackle GBV  - Fight for the night Demonstrations and Panel discussions  Created a Student's Association toolkit for tackling GBV Worked with Students, university and college reps and Sparqs developing best practice for student engagement in the gender action plan, and ensuring an intersectional approach to ending gender imbalances on courses. From day one she has shown her commitment to the role and has gone above and beyond to fulfill it. She has always lent a listening ear and offered advice whenever I have asked. She is not only dedicated to her role as women's officer but has shown that there is an intersectional way of approaching it and including all women and non-binary students. It has been an absolute pleasure working with her this year and I truly believe she should be re-elected as she has a lot more to offer."Astrid Smallenbroek, President, Stirling University Student's Association stick-with-shu.weebly.com  || fb.me/stickwithshu
