NUS Wales policy is created democratically at NUS Wales Conference and NUS Wales Zone Conference. At these events, students’ unions put forward policy ideas in the form of motions that they then debate and vote on. If delegates at these events vote for a given policy, it is placed on our policy book for the next three years.

Once three years have passed, delegates will be given the opportunity to ‘save’ a policy. That means that it remains on the policy book for a further three years. If they do not choose to do this, the policy lapses and is removed from the policy book.

Our work and campaigns are guided by our policy. Only students can write and approve policies, and NUS Wales’ officers are bound by policy.
