13 February at UU Belfast
On Tuesday 13 February women students and officers came together for our annual women's conference.
The keynote speaker was Síona Cahill, USI VP Equality and Citzenship and USI Deputy President. Síona spoke about her feminist journey and the importance of activism for women.
There was a panel discussion with three national women officers; Olivia Potter-Hughes, NUS-USI President, Síona Cahill, USI Deputy President and Hareem Ghani, NUS UK Women's Officer.
The final session was a workshop hosted by Danielle Roberts, Reclaim the Night and Ulster University student. The workshop was on bystander intervention in partnership with HollaBack.
Rachel Watters, QUBSU was elected women's officer 18-19 taking over the reins from Hannah Rooney, UUSU. Women's committee was elected with four new committee members. The women's officer and committee will take office on 1 July 2018 and will work on furthering the campaign aims and policy formed at women's conference.
