The Big SU Survey
In 2020 the Students’ Union Survey, developed by Jon Berg of Sunderland Students’ Union, joined forces with NUS to make the survey bigger and more sustainable for the future. This year we’re approaching it as a series of surveys with the aim of benchmarking the data more widely.
The plan of action aims to mirror the student union (SU) year more closely making it easier for members to collect and provide data. Frontline teams will be asked to provide content at key times of each year, with senior SU staff able to review and have final oversight of their students’ union submission.
This work will run in tandem with the Membership team’s annual data collection work providing a bank of rich data that can inform NUS and members in their work.
Reports will prioritise the issues and areas identified by members. The outline plans are being shared with members at Strategic Conversation and will help to shape the final plan of work across 2021.
