Liberation Train the Trainer

The aim of this training is to develop students’ union staff to proficiently design and deliver effective and inclusive liberation training.

As a result of this training you will be able to:

  • Design training to raise critical consciousness about oppression
  • Prepare training using universal instructional design
  • Apply facilitation techniques to create dialogue around sensitive topics
  • Practice reflection on action to improve training skills

  • Describe how some learning theories can be used in designing inclusive and liberated training for a range of stakeholder groups
  • Explain what techniques can be used to facilitate dialogue and sensitive discussions
  • Articulate the power dynamics in a training room and consideration when delivering liberation training

The course builds the capacity of students’ union staff to design and deliver liberation training that will in turn support students to have the confidence to engage in civic life.
