Amna Atteeq - Aston Students' Union
Simple promises to big a difference.

Hi there, I’m Amna the current VP Education, and newly elected President from Aston SU. One of the main reasons for me going for this position is to learn and listen to what changes our core audience; the students would like from NUS. My Union has struggled with its commercials for many years, and I understand a lot of other unions will be in the same position. I want to be able to listen and provide support to them. I want to be able to make a difference. That’s why I’m here to listen, learn and represent you. Thank you!

NUS extra Direction and Oversight Board - 2 x positions available

Tom Snape - KeeleSU
A Radical, Regional And Innovative Future

As Union Development and Democracy Officer at KeeleSU I've worked tirelessly to be a champion for student issues.

I have delivered real improvements to local transport, launderettes and mental health provision.

During the industrial action I proudly helped lead our campaign to support the UCU, standing on the picket line and coordinating protests; all whilst making sure students were protected and represented.

I’m standing for the NUS Extra DOB to help build an Extra that puts more money in students’ pockets, helps SU’s reach their members and re-establishes itself as the market leader.

Hello my name is Ahtesham Mahmood and I am currently the President of De Montfort Students' Union. With my experience, I hope to make the NUS Extra card more than just a card in the wallets we don’t where to use. It’s time to not only make change but save the change.

Hi All,

I'm Ahmed, current VP welfare and incoming President of QMSU. Throughout my term I have pioneered new initiatives that have drastically improved the student experience, whether this was founding the first ever Asian Heritage Month so that students could feel more at home to finding funding to cover the costs of gowns for lower income students, making sure that graduation is something that everyone can enjoy.

Therefore, I am proud to reveal that I am running for Ethical Engagement, because a body such as NUS much adhere to a strict ethical policy whilst also getting the best results for our student unions. So I pledge to:

 - Maintain high ethical standards

 - Listen to students' union and find what works well for their individual institute

 - Be innovative in our practises to improve the experience of the wider student body

From the new initiatives that I have introduced this year, it is clear that I have our entire student body in mind and I will strive to do the best job possible, so please vote for me.

The following candidiates were elected unopposed to the following Charity Advisory groups;

Students' Union Quality Charity Advisory group - 2 x positions available

Luke Myer – Edgehill Students’ Union

In the last year, unions across the country have encountered governance issues - ranging from board reliability, to officer authority, to senior management performance, to democracy, to commercial oversight. Unions of all kinds, shapes and sizes are facing challenges; the NUS quality mark is going to be more important than ever to assure and improve SUs’ quality, standards and overall effectiveness.

But given that QSU itself is changing, we need to fight to make sure that students & sabbs are consulted and involved - ensuring it's member-driven, and that the issues that need to be addressed are brought forward.

Harry Bishop - FXU

I'm currently the Community and Welfare President at Falmouth & Exeter Students' Union and Chair of our Board of Trustees. Governance doesn't look like the most exciting thing in the world but if we can make our governance work effectively behind the scenes then we can empower our students' unions to make the real change that our students deserve. My manifesto is simple, let's get the resources out there and let's educate and empower our sabbatical and student trustees in good governance so that they can be steering their students' unions, Guilds, or Associations' governing body.

Sarah Redman - Falmouth and Exeter Students' Union

Vote Red, she's one step ahead

Hiya! I’m Sarah, the President Student Experience at FXU. Last year, I held nine extra-curricular roles and logged over 850 hours of volunteering alongside my degree so I know how student opportunities can make or break your time in education. I am currently on the committees of NaSFA and SPA and would love to further improve student opportunities nationally. If elected, I would develop links with external organisations, expand HE opportunities to FE and apprentices, develop relationships between SU’s and student media and improve volunteer reward schemes! If you like the sound of that, vote Red, she’s one step ahead!
