Vice President (Further Education)

Juliana Mohamad-Noor

Hi, Juliana here, your NUS Vice President Further Education. I was born in a small village in Malaysia, grew up in Liverpool and now I’m living in London and very excited to represent this sector.

My FE Journey began when I was a, quiet 16 year- old who found her voice at my students’ union when I wanted to make a difference to the lives of students on campus. Who knew I’d later go on to become President at that SU, and then NUS’ Vice President FE, representing 4.5million students that make up the sector.

My priorities for the year will focus on the provision FE Education as well as engaging our wonderful students studying within further education institutions. I’ll be gathering student opinion and focusing on our commitment to building an education for all through our priority campaign, the National Education Service.

Access to education is a priority of mine so I’ll be working to understand how Islamophobia manifests in our institution and how the government Prevent campaign affects our members. Also, on my agenda is FE Funding and how that is shaped with areas such as Black Attainment Gap, and the inclusivity of our curriculum in FE linked to the work we have been doing on decolonising education.

I am committed to FE Students at every point to understand opinion and their challenges. I want to see us all work together in changing the world and leading the way this means working closely with the other NUS Full-Time Officers (FTOs) to ensure that FE is never missed out on the NUS Agenda.

I’m looking forward to seeing what we can create. Share your voice with me.

Much love
