Elections will be held at Disabled Students’ Conference 2018 for the following roles
- NUS Disabled Students’ Officer (full time, paid)
- NUS National Executive Council Disabled Students’ member (voluntary)
- NUS Disabled Students’ Committee (voluntary)
- NUS Disabled Students’ Steering Committee (voluntary)
Any Disabled student or full time officer at a Constituent Member of NUS or full time officer of NUS may stand for election.
The Disabled Students' Officer is the lead representative of disabled students in the UK and leads the work of the NUS Disabled Students campaign. They are responsible for acting on policy mandated at Disabled Students Conference and chair the Disabled Students Committee, who are elected volunteers.
Please note: the elections form cannot be saved and returned to. Please ensure you have 20 mins of time and all the documents you need to hand.
Nominations for the Committee will open and close at conference.
There are 11 Disabled Students Committee positions:
1 National Executive Council (NEC) representative - The NEC representative will be expected to attend the 6 meetings of the NEC between Disabled Students’ Conference 2017 and Disabled Students’ Conference 2018. If the Disabled Students’ Officer Role is taken by not a Self-defining Woman, the NEC Position will be open to Women Only. The Election for the Disabled Students officer will be held first.This position automatically sits on the Disabled Students Campaign Committee.
