You may not work in the commercial sector, but you may be interested in knowing more about the new social enterprise concepts that Trading Support launched at Trade Show – and you may even see these concepts being introduced at your students’ union in the future!
New Concept Shop & Kitchen
This exciting new store format has been exclusively designed with students' unions for students, and is specifically tailored to lead missions for stores evolving in a competitive retail landscape.
Blending fresh, quick-serve hot food and coffee with a curated range of retail products that are convenient, accessible and ethically sourced, the design, look and feel of the space brings ethics and sustainability to life for the student consumer.
Trade Show was the perfect opportunity for commercial staff to see an example layout of the shop and kitchen, with the Trading Support team and The Retailer Group, who designed and built the exhibition, on hand to answer any questions.
Union Streat Kitchen
Students have told us they want to buy from businesses with strong ethical and sustainable credentials and they want to know that the money they spend helps to create positive change.
So, adopting the principles of casual dining concepts, along with ethically sourced products, Trading Support have launched UNION STREAT KITCHEN; a social enterprise where every student penny spent is invested back in to their students’ union, directly funding positive, lasting and sustainable activities for students in their own community.
There will be three food concepts to choose from. Trade Show showcased a healthy eating option and an indulgent burger and a chicken menu will be developed over the summer.
Every element of the shop and kitchen is available through NUS’ Purchasing Consortium and the Trading Support team are now working with students’ unions to see how they can help transform their retail offering. If you’d like to know more, we’d love to hear from you.
