Weekly Roundup (6 February 2015)

Friday 06-02-2015 - 17:02

Each week we bring you a summary of the best tweets and photos from the world of students' unions as well as stories about NUS in the press.

What happened on NUS Connect this week?
This week, we joined forces with Bite the Ballot, students' unions and organisations across the UK to promote National Voter Registration Day. Throughout the day, students and their SUs used the #NVRD and #GenerationVote hashtags to flood social media with photos and videos of actions at their colleges and university campuses, making it a trending topic. You can relive some of the best examples of actions taken right here

Elsewhere on Connect, we asked where you stood on incentivising your officer elections to students who vote in them. British journalist and BBC newscaster Emily Maitlis spoke to us about her views on Page 3, lad culture, women in leadership roles in the workplace and the stigma against feminism. We also published 'A New Settlement', a report into the costs and benefits of NUS membership.
