Each week we bring you a summary of the best tweets and photos from the world of students' unions as well as stories about NUS in the press.

What happened on Connect this week?

This week we celebrated Trustees Week, kick-started our series of Takeover Thursdays on social media to promote student issues ahead of the General Election and we caught up with Martin Laws and Darren Tomkins from the University of Manchester Students' Union, who reflected on their successful Welcome Week for our weekly Hot Seat Interview. To round up the week, hundreds of students and staff across the UK are taking part through Blackout, our switch off campaign developed in partnership with the University of Southampton.

Tweets of the week
To celebrate our first Takeover Thursday, this week we've featured our favourite EMA-themed #GenerationVote tweets from yesterday.

Takeover Thursday Poll Results
Thanks to everyone who took part in yesterday's Facebook poll which asked 'We think students need a new, better EMA. Do you agree?', The results of the poll were that 92% of you agreed with the statment, while 8% disagreed.
