Students’ Unions celebrate Green Impact at 10

Tuesday 05-07-2016 - 20:17

Delegates at Students’ Unions 2016 reflected on how far the movement’s sustainability work has come over the past decade at a special reception tonight.

Green Impact, NUS’ flagship sustainability project, celebrates its tenth birthday this year. The scheme focuses on bringing together staff and students to drive sustainability action in students’ unions, universities and colleges and wider society.

Green Impact has clocked up 250,000 ‘greening actions’ to date and boasts over 100 participating students’ unions.

Tonight, the membership had an opportunity to look back on ten years of student-led sustainability and to also ask how we can make it just as cutting edge over the ten years to come.

There was also a special ‘Green Impact at 10’ exhibition which looked at the history our sustainability work.
