The National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) have launched the Winifred Tumin Memorial Prize - a competition asking for charities to demonstrate their excellence in governance.
The NCVO Good Governance Code is almost identical to the model used in our Quality Students’ Unions scheme, so this competition is ideally suited to students’ unions - especially those who have gone through this mark.
- Be able to demonstrate, through the application process, how they have improved the effectiveness of their governance and delivered greater public benefit as a charity in line with Good Governance: a Code for the Voluntary and Community Sector
- Be a charity based in England (even if your organisation operates across the UK, your headquarters must be based in England)
- Cover work carried out during the period April 2015 to March 2016
How to enter
All NUS-affiliated unions are automatically members of NCVO and benefit from their training and communications materials.
You can enter the competition online by completing an application form before the deadline on Friday 9 September.
If you have any queries on the prize then please email email@example.com or call 020 7520 3153.
