NUS International Student Awards 2017: the winners

Our second ever International Student Awards took place on Saturday 13 May in Leeds during International Students’ Conference 2017 and we can now announce the winners from the night!

The International Student Awards - which cover five categories - both recognised and celebrated some of the amazing work that international students do while encouraging this great work to continue.

This year’s ceremony was hosted by the author and activist Gulwali Passarlay, and NUS’ International Students’ Officer Mostafa Rajaai.

The winners of the International Student Awards 2017:

Internationalised Students Union of the Year (Further Education)

- Winner: City of Glasgow College Students' Association

- Runner up: Brockenhurst College Students’ Union

Internationalised Students Union of the Year (Higher Education)

- Winner: The University of Sheffield Students Union

- Runner up: Students' Union University of the Arts London

International Students’ Campaign of the Year

- Winner: Christ Church Students' Union

- Runner up: University East Anglia Students' Union

International Student Officer of the Year

- Winner: Meghna Mohanka, LSE SU

- Runner up: Mai Ngoc Anh (Anna) Nguyen, Brockenhurst College SU
- Runner up: Cheryl Kwan-Yee Chan, Coventry University SU

International Student of the Year

- Winner: Santhana Gopalakrishnan, The University of Sheffield SU

- Runner up: Franklin Babu, Students’ Association of the University of the West of Scotland
- Runner up: Sharifah Hani Yasmin binti Syed Abdullah, The University of Essex SU
