Nominations for Full Time Officer positions are closing soon

Could you be part of the NUS officer team next year? Nominations for  Full Time Officer positions are closing over the next two weeks. Women’s Officer, LGBT Officers (Women’s and Open Place) Disabled Students Officer and International Students Officer close on Wednesday 17 February at 12:00pm. Nominations for the position of President and Vice-Presidents close on Wednesday 24 February at 12:00pm. Nomination forms can be found on the Conference Hub.


In order to stand for a Full Time Officer position you will need to complete a nomination form with the information below. It is important that you allow yourself plenty of time to complete the form so you don't miss the deadline. You can save the form and come back to it as often as you like. 


What do we need? 


Personal Details

You’ll need to provide us with your personal details, including the name of your Union.



You should read and understand the conditions for Eligibility for the position that you want to stand for. This can be found in the Elections Document on the Conference Hub. Any individual member of NUS can stand for election – this includes students aged over 16 or sabbatical officers at a member students union or association affiliated to NUS.


Evidence of Student or Sabbatical Status

Candidates need to provide one of the following proof of status documents. This can be uploaded into your nomination form.

  • A Letter from your institution confirming your student or officer status
  • A letter from your Students Union/Guild/Association Confirming your Student or Officer Status
  • A Letter Confirming that you are a member of an NUS Committee
  • A Scan of your valid student card, which clearly shows the name of your institution and the expiration date


Your Nominations

Each Candidate for a full time role must be nominated by at least 10 nominators. Each Nominator must be from a different Constituent Member of NUS (A Constituent Member is a Students’ Union or Association affiliated to NUS). You’ll need to provide evidence of student or sabbatical status for each nominator.


Manifesto and Statement

This is your chance to introduce yourself and explain why you should be elected to the position. You can submit a manifesto and a political description or slogan. You can also submit a Head and Shoulders Photo and a short biography for the elections booklet.
