Is your website ready for Freshers week?

So your new sabbs have taken office and everyone’s gearing up to welcome a new intake of students this Autumn. Looks like somebody’s going to have to refresh your union’s website. That’s where UnionCloud can help…

We know summertime can be an extremely busy period for staff in unions responsible for online channels. That’s why our UnionCloud team have been around the UK in recent weeks offering training tailored to support unions to get their websites up and ready for welcome season.

During the sessions, we’ve been teaching staff subscribed to our UnionCloud web platform how to use it to;

  • Manage individual student data from the point of registration and uploading data through to understanding how to use this data in a more sophisticated way;
  • Manage student groups in a similar way to manage a student’s memberships, promotions and awards;
  • Set up events and e-ticketing showing how to create multiple ticket types per event with a variety of ways in which they can be redeemed, alongside integration with social media and reporting and gathering of booking details;
  • Get the most from our marketing and communication tools by uploading regular articles, images and documents, and creating bespoke subsites for particular campaigns, activities or events.

The training also explored how unions could use our specially developed app and remote sales feature more effectively during their Freshers Week or Welcome Week activity.

These sessions follow on from our initial wave of regional training days earlier this year, designed to upskill NUS members using the UnionCloud platform. From Communications Managers through to Societies Coordinators, attendees told us they left with a “very good understanding of the core functionality of UnionCloud.”

UnionCloud will be hosting more local training events like this in other module areas in the future. If you’re interested in hearing more about these, please email
