Network and gain key skills at our biggest event for women in the student movement. The Women in Leadership Conference 2017 is now open for registration; start 2017 inspired!
This year’s Women in Leadership Conference will be held in Sheffield on Wednesday 8 February. If you’re an officer, student rep, staff, trustee or a woman looking to pursue a leadership role in the student movement then this event is for you.
At NUS we recognise that there is a lack of women leaders throughout society and we want to address this gender disparity head on. Although women are well represented in the movement when it comes to positions of power and steering the movement, women fair less, especially women from liberation backgrounds. That’s why we’re excited to invite you to this year’s Women in Leadership Conference as part of our continued work to support women’s leadership.
The annual event offers unrivalled opportunities to network with other women within the movement. Plus, we’ll be discussing women’s leadership, the impact of sexism on women leaders and aspiring leaders, develop leadership skills through a range of workshops, and exploring strategies to overcome barriers for women in leadership. Also on the agenda is inspirational keynote speaker, Ruth Hunt, Stonewall Chief Executive.
On top of that fantastic line-up we’ve got an amazing free giveaway - all delegates we receive a copy of The Feminist Activity Book by Gemma Correll. “It has everything you need to usher in an era of gender-equal prosperity”, complete with Feminist All-Star Trading Cards, Anti-Sexism Merit Badges and much, much more!
