We’ll be at Labour, Conservative and SNP party conferences over the coming weeks, where we’ll be speaking to delegates about the issues which matter to students and making sure education is on the agenda.
NUS will be hosting fringe events during Labour, Conservative and SNP party conferences once again this year.
During these fringes, NUS, alongside MPs and leading sector experts, will be driving discussions on a number of issues affecting students including access to education, Prevent and Brexit.
Here’s a schedule of where we’ll be and when:
Labour party conference
'What does Brexit mean for universities, students and the government’s higher education agenda?'
NUS and the association of modern universities, MillionPlus, have joined forces to ask the important question of what Brexit will do to higher education, and what it means for the government’s HE Bill.
When: Monday 26 September (5.30pm – 6.30pm)

'Challenging Prevent: how the Prevent duty demonises students and communities'
NUS is hosting an event with leading politicians and students personally targeted by the government’s Prevent agenda.

Conservative party conference
'Reform or revolution? Has the government got it right for universities and students in a post-Brexit world?'
NUS and MillionPlus, the association for modern universities, will be asking the government directly whether their reforms will really be in the best interests of students and universities.

'Universities, colleges and students: promoting access and life chances in Holyrood and Westminster'
NUS will be in Glasgow for the SNP conference to ask what the SNP can do to promote social mobility through HE and FE, from Holyrood and Westminster.
