Developing College Students' Associations

Our work supporting strong and effective college students’ associations will continue for another two years, following a successful funding bid to the Scottish Funding Council (SFC).

Two years ago, following the launch of the Framework for the Development of Strong and Effective College Students’ Associations in Scotland, NUS Scotland began a project to help to embed the Framework, and to support the development of students’ associations in the college sector, to ensure they are better able to make a big impact on students’ lives.

Two years later, there is still work to be done, and NUS Scotland has received confirmation of our successful funding bid from the Scottish Funding Council. The bid was a joint application with sparqs who will continue to work in partnership with us in colleges to ensure students voices are heard. This is a good opportunity to reflect on the work we’ve done and consider how it can be improved. If you have ideas about how our work to develop college students' associations should progress in the coming years please get in touch with Mike Williamson, Development Manager on

Excitingly, the new funding means we are recruiting an additional Development Consultant to join our team for the next two years. To apply or for more information, visit
