Students' Unions 2011

Following the merger between AMSU and NUS last year, we have been working on developing an exciting new event to replace AMSU conference.

We are pleased to announce that Students’ Unions 2011 will take place at Leeds University Union on 19-20 July 2011.

This two day, two night event will bring together officers and staff to share best practice, learn from outside the student movement and hear from leading figures to prepare for the year ahead.

The event will culminate in the NUS Awards, celebrating excellence in students' unions.

The planning committee is made up of staff from students’ unions, the host union and NUS staff and we have been developing a vibrant educational and social programme to help you start the year with real focus on the challenges ahead, whilst celebrating the one just finished.

The Concept

Students’ Unions 2011 will be the primary introduction to the year ahead for staff and lead officers throughout the UK.

It will set out the key strategic challenges whilst focusing on sharing and showcasing best practice from students’ unions, higher education and the voluntary sector.

The first day will focus on education and the second will focus on students’ unions as organisations. We hope as many unions will be able to participate to maximise networking opportunities.

Target audience

The conference is aimed at senior managers in students’ unions, presidents/lead officers, education officers and specific specialist staff where relevant to your role.

We are keen that staff at all levels and specialisms in students’ unions can attend and develop their skills and knowledge.

Price

We have worked hard to keep the price as low as possible, to ensure as many people can access the conference as possible.

The delegate fee is £250 +VAT this includes two full days of conference, two nights accommodation a gala dinner and the NUS Awards.

There is also the option of attending the conference as a day delegate for £70 +VAT per day.
