NUS Wales has five autonomous liberation campaigns that work on issues that affect specific groups of students. Each of these campaigns elect their own leaders annually and set their own policies.

Black Students


Our Black Students’ liberation campaign works on issues that affect BME (black and minority ethnic) students in Wales.

The campaign’s committee for 2016/17 is:
• Black Students’ Officer – Akosua Darko
• Steering Officer - Oyeinkediton Churchill
• Committee member (FE place) – Mischa Ross
• Committee member (Women’s place) - Hyelni Uba Mshelia
• Committee member (Open place) – Robiu Salisu

The position of NUS Wales Black Students’ Officer and all committee members are part-time, voluntary roles.

LGBT+


Our LGBT+ liberation campaign works on issues that affect lesbian, gay, bisexual, and trans* students in Wales.

The campaign’s committee for 2015/6 is:

Students with Disabilities


Our Students with Disabilities liberation campaign works on issues that affect disabled students in Wales.

Welsh Language


Our Welsh Language liberation campaign works on issues relating to the Welsh language and students who are Welsh speakers and learners in Wales.

Our Women’s liberation campaign works on issues relating to women students in Wales.

The position of NUS Wales Women’s Officer is a full-time, paid role, but all committee members are part-time and unpaid.
