FE SkillSgiliau AB: Wales’ students to learn how to create change within their colleges

FE students who want to learn how to create change within their colleges should come to the new FE SkillSgiliau AB events.

Bridgend College hosts the event on Tuesday 23 Oct, with an identical offering at Coleg Llandrillo Conference Centre in Rhos-on-Sea on Thursday 25 Oct.

Whether you’re a class rep, student council member or student governor, this event will help you learn skills that are invaluable. Participants will better understand how to represent the student voice and change their colleges for the better.

Registration opens today (1 Oct) at 10am, and closes on Monday 15 Oct at 5pm.

College staff are welcome to attend, observe and network.

Attendees will be charged £5 to cover the cost of lunch. However, this is not payable when registering online. The charge will be invoiced to the colleges identified by students and staff after registration closes on 15 Oct. Students and staff who register online but do not attend the event will still incur a charge payable by their college.

Student movement condemns removal of January A-Level resit

Following the announcement by Education Minister John O’Dowd on A-Level changes, NUS-USI student movement President Adrianne Peltz said the announcement must ensure clarity for students and must maintain the integrity and transferability of qualifications. She said however that removing the January resit option for new A-Level students, and the potential change to the AS/A2 weightings were both very retrograde steps.
