Academic Support- Where to start
Kate Wicklow, NUS

This session will look at what students want from their academic support and, using the NUS Charter on Academic Support, work with delegates to develop how we can extend academic support practices on the ground. It will highlight good practice and innovations from the sector and will discuss issues around the role of the institution the students’ union in supporting students academically.

Aimed at: Middle managers, front line staff and practitioners and officers

By ensuring the good ethics of their supply chain through initiatives like Caring Dairy, Ben & Jerry’s strike a close parallel between their own practices and those of NUS. Through our support of the Happy Cows campaign, also championed by the company, NUS and two activist students were invited to the Netherlands to see first-hand how Ben & Jerry’s are world leaders of making their own supply chain ethical, by visiting a Caring Dairy farm.
