The two national postgraduate experience surveys Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES) and Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES) will be run in 2010-11.
PRES and PTES are coordinated by the Higher Education Academy on an opt-in basis. Institutions have the opportunity to sign up until 3rd December, 2010. From 2010, the Higher Education Academy will advise institutions to engage students' unions in the administration and interpretation of PRES and PTES.
Working with the Higher Education Academy, NUS has included information and guidance for unions on the postgraduate experience surveys in its new Guide to Surveys in Higher Education.
The guide includes:
- Information about the surveys and what they tell us about the postgraduate student experience
- Making the arguments for adopting the surveys
- Getting the union involved with promoting the use of the surveys to enhance the student experience
