NUS has joined with the British Library, the UK Council for Graduate Education and Vitae to create a unique event bringing together doctoral researchers with academic staff, librarians and researcher developers to discuss the doctoral experience and formulate recommendations for how it can be improved.

The event will be held on 1 November at the British Library Conference centre, 10am-4.30pm. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

The day will include inputs from speakers and researchers in doctoral education, facilitated discussion amongand between different cohorts of attendees, and an optional short tour of the British Library.

We are asking students' unions to promote this event within institutions, and to nominate PGR reps and students to attend. There are discounted rates if a student attends with a member of university staff.

Rates are:

£50 for individual students

£140 for a student plus a member of academic staff

£150 for a member of academic staff only
