Postgraduate Conference 2011

Registration opened today for Postgraduate Conference on 12/13 May 2011. Officers, reps and staff are all welcome to attend.

The deadline for submission of motions prior to Postgraduate Conference is 28 April.

In order for delegates to get the most out of the experience, Postgraduate Committee has decided to create a handy guide to postgraduate conference, including:

  • Who should come to postgraduate conference and why
  • Running for election to Postgraduate Committee
  • Notice of the motions that Postgraduate Committee intends to submit to Postgraduate Conference
  • Some jokes about conference food

Please note: this is an informal notice of motions, intended to provide unions with a starting point for discussion of policy issues. It is not a formal conference document.

Student movement condemns removal of January A-Level resit

Following the announcement by Education Minister John O’Dowd on A-Level changes, NUS-USI student movement President Adrianne Peltz said the announcement must ensure clarity for students and must maintain the integrity and transferability of qualifications. She said however that removing the January resit option for new A-Level students, and the potential change to the AS/A2 weightings were both very retrograde steps.
