The Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) has been working with NUS and other stakeholders to define the characteristics of a UK doctoral degree.
In the summer of 2010 QAA and NUS held a joint workshop on the information needs of postgraduate students, followed by workshops at QAA and NUS events.
Now two draft documents are under consultation, and your feedback is sought by 29 April 2011.
The Rough Guide to the UK Doctorate is aimed at current and prospective PhD candidates, and may also be useful for students' unions who work with doctoral researchers.
Doctoral Degree Characteristics is aimed at academics and university staff and quality managers.
You can give your feedback via the QAA website or by contacting NUS Postgraduate Campaign.
