NUS-USI President Adrianne Peltz has said she is proud to have been given the honour of speaking at the Peace One Day event in Ebrington Square in Derry/Londonderry tonight. She said the event provides an opportunity to showcase the city and Northern Ireland, and share the hope and progress made in Northern Ireland.
Adrianne Peltz said: “I am very excited to be involved with such a fantastic event that is showcasing Derry/Londonderry and the whole of Northern Ireland. The atmosphere in the city is one of achievement and jubilation - particularly from students.
“NUS-USI is absolutely thrilled to support Peace One Day’s vision and is committed to mobilising the students of Northern Ireland to that end. We look forward to joining our fellow students from around the world for a historic day on Peace Day 21 September 2012.
“I am proud that we are all here today, for an international celebration. It’s a very special occasion and is one that sends out a message of peace and progress to the rest of the world.
“Northern Ireland can be a beacon of hope and I want to congratulate all those behind this inspirational event for their excellent work.”
