NUS Digital nominated for prestigious IT award
NUS digital, the new online platform that allows students' unions to build state-of-the-art websites through Unioncloud, has been nominated for the award of 'Best not for Profit Project' at the UK IT industry awards.
The awards are widely considered to be the definitive event for showcasing excellence in the field of IT in the UK.
News of the nomination came after the Digital team had submitted details of the project to the awards panel, including its aims, documentation and technical architecture. Other nominees for the award include the Wellcome Trust, The Home Office, and The Children's Trust.
Responding to news of the nomination, NUS President Liam Burns said: 'We're absolutely thrilled that NUS Digital has been nominated for such a prestigious award, and whilst the project is still in its pilot stages, this nomination is testament to our commitment and ambition to ensure we can assist our member unions in reaching out to their students. This is how together we will build a strong, vibrant and engaged student movement at the cutting edge of modern technology'.
The awards will be held on Wednesday 14th November at Battersea Park Events Arena in London
