Episode 72 | NUS Policy Pod | 23/02/11

 We're back out on the road again this week, this time in Liverpool for our Project Participation event focussed on the role of students' unions in widening access and participation.

Simon Hughes pops up to talk about his role as advocate for access to HE and there's contributions from Aaron Porter (President) and Usman Ali (VP Higher Education) on access, fees and the National Scholarship Scheme.

Our panel debate these issues and the question of plagiarism in personal statements. With Pete Woodward (Welfare & Equalities at Northumbria), Kate Little (Academic Affairs at Manchester) and ben Whittaker (NUS' VP Welfare)

Five ideas: communicating your impact

The student movement exists to improve the lives of students and recognises the impact that learning and development have on wider society. In order to achieve this we need to challenge and change issues that threaten the ability of students to succeed in further and higher education. However, to influence change we need to mobilise students and other supporters.
