Universities UK has published a new report, The Provision of Part-time Higher Education in the UK. Written by one of the UK's leading authorities on part-time HE, Prof Claire Callender (pictured), and Anne Jamieson, both at Birkbeck College, it looks at what provision exists, and what helps promote or inhibit higher education institutions offering part-time courses.
There is a focus in the report on undergraduate provision in England, but it does cover all parts of the UK and postgraduate provision, and looks at regional differences as well as the financial barriers faced by students undertaking courses - with a strong recommendation this is addressed by the Government following the publication of the report into student funding by Lord Browne.
