Dilyn i fyny ar Ddiwrnod Hyfforddiant Tai UCMC

Ar 3ydd Tachwedd, cynhaliodd UCMC ei ail Ddiwrnod Hyfforddiant Tai yn Undeb Myfyrwyr Prifysgol Caerdydd. ‘Roedd yn ddigwyddiad cadarnhaol a ddarparodd gryn lawer o wybodaeth i bobl; ‘roedd dros hanner y swyddogion llety/lles o brifysgolion Cymru’n bresennol, a rhoddwyd cyfle iddynt i rannu arferion gorau ym maes Llety Myfyrwyr.

Yn ystod y diwrnod daeth:

Anne Rowland o fudiad Achredu Landlordiaid Cymru a Kieran McCann – Swyddog Prosiect Tai Myfyrwyr Cyngor Caerdydd i roi cyflwyniad diddorol ar ddeddfwriaeth sy’n perthyn i’r Sector Rentu Breifat, ac atebwyd cwestiynau ar agweddau cyfreithiol sy’n ymwneud â Thai Myfyrwyr yng Nghymru.

Pete Mercer Is-Lywydd Lles UCM DU i siarad am y cefndir a’r sefyllfa bresennol parthed â Thai Myfyrwyr yn y DU

Chris Davies Swyddog Lles a Chyfathrebu yn Undeb Caerdydd i siarad am arferion gorau’r ymgyrch les sydd wedi cael eu datblygu yn UM Caerdydd, ac aeth Danielle Buckley – Is-Lywydd Addysg a Lles yn UM Bangor ati i esbonio sut y bu iddynt ddatblygu eu hymgyrch dai dros y flwyddyn gyntaf.

Charlotte BrittonSwyddog Lles yn Undeb Myfyrwyr Abertawe i siarad am y mentrau ‘roedd hi wedi eu gweithredu yn Abertawe, gyda’r nod o annog ac atgoffa myfyrwyr o bwysigrwydd bod yn perthyn i a bod yn aelodau gweithredol o’u cymunedau.

Canolbwynt y diwrnod oedd lawnsio Arolwg Tai UCMC – cyflwynwyd yr arolwg gan Charlotte Britton a Raechel Mattey – Dirprwy Lywydd UCMC, ynghyd â’u gobeithion ar gyfer mynd ati am y tro cyntaf i gasglu data ansoddod ar gyflwr materion tai sy’n effeithio ar fyfyrwyr yng Nghymru.

Daeth y diwrnod i ben gyda thrafodaeth ymysg y cynrychiolwyr i gyd ar faterion cyfoes megis Tai a Llety ar gyfer Myfyrwyr Cymru, ac os yw rhenti uwch yn gyfystyr â safonau uwch?

Student movement comments on report on review of teacher training

Following today’s update from Minister Stephen Farry in the Assembly on the review of teacher education infrastructure in Northern Ireland, NUS-USI student movement President Adrianne Peltz said: “The student movement will be examining this report in detail and we will be discussing it with our member institutions.

Student movement condemns removal of January A-Level resit

Following the announcement by Education Minister John O’Dowd on A-Level changes, NUS-USI student movement President Adrianne Peltz said the announcement must ensure clarity for students and must maintain the integrity and transferability of qualifications. She said however that removing the January resit option for new A-Level students, and the potential change to the AS/A2 weightings were both very retrograde steps.

 
Announcement on jobs for recently qualified teachers welcomed

President of NUS-USI student movement Adrianne Peltz has welcomed the creation of 230 new jobs for recently qualified teachers, who will now be recruited on two year fixed-term contracts to help provide tuition to children on literacy and numeracy.

 
4-Day Education and Representation Course confirmed

We are really excited to announce that this year’s Education and Representation course will be extended to a fourth day due to a subsidy from HEFCE. This support enables us to develop the content of this course even further, framed around our mutual agenda around partnership, student engagement and quality
