
Winners of the NUS LGBT Awards 2010 were announced at the LGBT Campaign Conference in May 2010. These awards recognise the significant contribution of LGBT societies and campaigners to improving the lives of LGBT students.
Winners were presented with an award and cash prizes of between £150 and £250 to be used to further develop LGBT societies and campaigns in students' unions. Awards, in association with Unison LGBT and Young Members, were presented to the following:
- FE LGBT Society of the Year - Basingstoke College of Technology LGBT Aware (Gareth Denny from BCOT is pictured above collecting his award from Shane Chowen, VP FE, and Ollie Crooks, NUS LGBT Committee 2009-10)
- HE LGBT Society of the Year - University of Essex LGBT Society
- LGBT Student Campaigner of the Year - Colum McGuire (University of Kent)
- LGBT Campaign of the Year - Homophobia in Halls (University of Nottingham LGBT Society)
- LGBT Event of the Year - Coalition Midlands LGBT (LGBT History Month)
