LGBT Healthcare Briefing on Domestic Violence

We are pleased to announce the publication of this LGBT Healthcare Briefing focusing on domestic violence in LGBT relationships.

This mini-briefing looks at one aspect of the NUS LGBT Healthcare Manifesto, published last year, detailing ten key demands for a fairer health system for LGBT people.

The aim of this briefing is to provide campaigning ideas for LGBT societies and groups who want to promote LGBT-positive healthcare for students.

The briefing contains information about relevant research and LGBT domestic violence support and advocacy organisations, and ideas about how you can campaign for changes and support students who might be in abusive relationships.

Student movement condemns removal of January A-Level resit

Following the announcement by Education Minister John O’Dowd on A-Level changes, NUS-USI student movement President Adrianne Peltz said the announcement must ensure clarity for students and must maintain the integrity and transferability of qualifications. She said however that removing the January resit option for new A-Level students, and the potential change to the AS/A2 weightings were both very retrograde steps.
