Last night the UKBA announced that London Metropolitain University had lost its Highly Trusted Sponsor status. This has severe implications for the thousands of international students currently studying at the university, and more widely for UK higher education as a whole.
Advice for affected students
DO NOT make any decisions about what you will do until you have spoken to an immigration adviser.
You can call the London Met helpline on: +44 (0) 20 7133 4141
You can call the UK Council for International Student Affairs (UKCISA) helpline: +44 (0) 20 7107 9922
You can visit the UKCISA advice pages: www.ukcisa.org.uk
You will have 60 days from when you receive your Letter of Curtailment, not from today, so there is still time for you to think through your options.
NUS is doing everything in its power to ensure that international students from London Met are supported.
