To support the development and training of staff and officers in students’ unions, Endsleigh has introduced a series of ‘How to’ Guides or kits which can be used by you (staff and Officers) and your union.
The guides have been produced as video interviews and made available to all unions. Each guide is supported by training manuals and, where applicable, re-usable templates to help guide staff and officers through the areas they wish to gain some insight into.
This guide has been written by Endsleigh’ Insurance’s Finance Director who has over 25 years’ experience working in the financial services sector, and over 10 years’ experience directly involved in risk management.
Risk management is the process of pre-empting what might stop us achieving our objectives.
It is an essential requirement in any sort of planning, organising and operating activity. We must look first at what we want to achieve and then start to think proactively about events or occurrences that might prevent us from achieving those goals. With careful thought, planning and poroactive action we can minimise either:
- The chance of these events occurring, or
- Their impact if they do occur.
If you have been tasked with achieving or delivering something, for example a political campaign or increased membership, then this guide is essential for you. Properly managing risk will maximise your chances of success.
