The Accommodation Costs Survey 2012 has now been launched.
The survey is run jointly by NUS and Unipol Student Homes. It collects information from private accommodation providers and educational establishments every two years, so that we can build a clear picture of the costs, standards and choice of student accommodation across the UK.
In a climate where accommodation costs are rising on average at a rate above general inflation, it's really important that students' unions play a role in encouraging their institutions to complete the survey and then use the results to trigger conversations around their hall provision at a local level.
The findings from the survey will be published in October 2012, and Universities, Colleges and Private Sector housing providers find this information invaluable as it gives to the only accurate, cross sectorial snapshot of student accommodation costs in the UK. The survey is well established within the sector and is widely regarded as the primary source of information about the cost of student accommodation.

The survey will close on Friday 31 August
