After the success of last year’s conference, the Union of Jewish Students (UJS) is hosting a day conference for university and students’ union staff and officers designed to foster a better understanding of the challenges facing Jewish students within higher education.

The conference, taking place on Wednesday 24th October, will see experts from the Jewish community and the universities sector  presenting on topics including:

  • Anti Semitism and hate speech
  • Impact of the Israel-Palestine debate
  • Dietary needs (kosher food)
  • Religious observances (e.g. timetabling)
  • Working with Jewish Societies
  • Interfaith

We will also be presenting the findings of the first National Jewish Student Survey, commissioned by UJS and conducted by the Jewish Policy Research Institute and Ipsos MORI.

This conference is open to all university and students’ union staff and officers. It will be most appropriate to those working in the following areas:

  • Equalities
  • Student activities
  • Chaplains
  • Welfare and support services
  • Good campus relations
  • Catering, accommodation and commercial services

Click here to register for the event.  The conference is free, but participants must register online by Friday 19th October 2012.

Please note NUS are not organising this event, UJS are organsing the event. If you would like to know more about the event please contact campaigns@ujs.org.uk
