Since winning the 2012 ‘I am the Change’ competition, Epsom Phab has been given support and guidance from NUS.
We have valued all their amazing help in pushing forward with our campaign, and finally we have reached a point where our voices are being heard, and the council understand that they must do something about it.
It is a crucial time in our relationship with Surrey County Council. We are seeking the support of the wider community to ensure SCC is aware that they must answer to more than just the 120 members. It is about the wider community highlighting the importance of clubs such as Phab in building an inclusive society for the future.
On Tuesday 24th July, the Phab members will be taking the petition they have created, which has been signed by over 750 people, to a County cabinet meeting and will be asking for their confirmation that Epsom Phab will be saved.
This is an important day for Phab, but this does not stop the need for further support, if you could sign the petition, found online at http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/save-epsom-phab/, it is one more person supporting the positive work a club like Phab does, and takes us one step closer to securing the future of our club. It will prove that even though one youth club may seem very small, with the help of the community, it can do big things.
