‘Why let good times go bad?’ – the safer drinking campaign that NUS work with Drinkaware to deliver to students’ unions has been shortlisted for a prestigious Third Sector Excellence Award for best corporate partnership.
The campaign, run by Drinkaware with support from NUS and over 70 partners across the drinks industry is part of a five year, £100 million commitment to tackling the social acceptability of drunkenness among young adults. Campaign messages offer simple advice on how to keep a night out enjoyable and safe with tips including; ‘eating isn’t cheating’, ‘miss a round, not the whole night’ and ‘alternate alcoholic drinks with soft ones’.
Updated campaign materials will be delivered to students’ unions in late August, in time to roll out for freshers’ week. They can also be downloaded from the NUS Connect 'Why let good times go bad' mini site.
Results for the Third Sector Excellence Awards will be announced at a ceremony on the 27th September. The full list of finalists can be viewed on the Third Sector Excellence Awards website.
