
Pete Mercer has been re-elected NUS Vice President Welfare for 2012/13, beating the three-candidate field at the first round of voting.
Pete racked up 388 votes at the first count, taking him comforably over the quota. Sean Rillo-Razka came second with 145 votes, while Ed Bauer followed in third with 78 votes. RON totalled 25 and there was one spoilt ballot paper.
In his manifesto, Pete said: "A year ago I stood on a platform and promised to give the welfare zone teeth. This year, I've worked to give a firm direction for welfare, based on the needs of our students."
