The Organisation
The University of East London Students’ Union offers a wide range of services to students of the University. Students can receive advice & be represented at meetings, get involved with volunteering; become a member of a Society and represent students on their programme with support from us. You will work between both of our Campuses based in East London.
The Post
The successful candidate will provide impartial advice and representation for individual University of East London students. The post-holder will be responsible for developing the academic advice service, provide statistics and other useful information on the issues affecting UEL students and develop and deliver training sessions on academic regulations. The post holder will be expected to maintain high standards of customer care and adhere to the Union’s policies and procedures for the provision of advice.
The Person
The post-holder will have experience of giving advice to clients in a professional environment, dealing with complex issues and implementing effective administrative systems to support their work. The post holder will also have a comprehensive knowledge of the issues affecting students in higher education and academic best practice. In addition, you will have excellent communication skills, the ability to talk students’ through a range of policies & procedures and refer them on to relevant departments within UEL and external agencies when necessary.
