Cardiff University Students’ Union is a unique organisation. It is owned by 26,000 Cardiff University student members, and is run by eight elected student officers.  As an organisation, we strive to help students enjoy their time in Cardiff, make friends and leave University with skills for a future career. CUSU is a charity organisation offering services, resources and support. We use money made through our bars, cafes, shops and events to improve the services offered to students. We offer advice and representation, training and skills development. We join students in campaigning about the issues important to them. We aspire to have a positive impact on the wider community in Cardiff.

The Communications Department has a vacancy for a vibrant, enthusiastic individual to join its team. The person will be responsible for assisting in all areas of the department including marketing, website and social media, advertising sales, working with in house Graphic Designers and general office administration. The ability to remain organised whilst dealing with multiple projects is essential, as is a keen eye for detail, creative copy writing skills and a sound knowledge of online and social media. The successful candidate will thrive on working in a fast paced environment, while remaining focused on getting tasks completed thoroughly and on time. Experience of working within charity organisations or marketing for charity services is desirable.

The successful candidate will have the following skills:

  • The ability to work on more than one project at a time
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • IT Literate (Microsoft Office)
  • Proof reading
  • Ability to work with people at all levels, both internally and externally to the organisation.
  • Office organisation skills
  • Familiarity with popular social media websites.
